We never set out to build a pet brand.
Life simply happened—one moment we were welcoming another cat, then another dog. They came from different places, each carrying a past of their own. Some arrived frail from years on the streets, wary of every approaching hand; others were given up due to health issues; some bore no visible scars, yet hid in corners, too afraid to eat or connect.
We fed them, took them to the vet, cleaned their wounds, and gave them a quiet, warm home. At first, we thought rescue meant providing a roof, food, and company.
But we soon realized it wasn’t that simple.
Physical wounds heal and close. But the anxiety etched by years of straying, hunger, fighting, and abandonment doesn’t vanish just because they cross the threshold. Some cats dart away at the slightest sound; some dogs panic the moment they lose sight of us; some gulp down food, guarding it fiercely; others stare at a full bowl for hours, too terrified to approach.
That’s when we truly understood:
Rescue only moves them out of danger; understanding helps them rebuild a life.This realization became the soul of EVOTAILS.

As more cats and dogs joined our family, we were forced to confront questions we’d never seriously considered.
Each had unique physical conditions, dietary needs, and environmental triggers. A one-size-fits-all approach to feeding simply didn't work. Some cats, due to age, dental issues, or digestion, thrived only on wet food. Others preferred small, frequent meals, unable to finish large portions. Many were sensitive to temperature; they would turn away from food straight from the fridge without a second glance.
Then there was the trauma of scarcity. Pets who had known long-term hunger would guard their bowls even in safety, braced for competition. In multi-pet homes, the faster, more dominant eaters often stole food from the slower ones.
We also realized that dietary issues are rarely just about "picky eating." A missed meal might be due to the food's temperature, an unfamiliar sound, another pet encroaching on their space, or a subtle shift in their physical or emotional state. Pets can't tell us why they won't eat; all owners see is a full bowl left untouched.
The same went for space. Some needed clear boundaries to feel secure; puppies needed potty training; newly rescued cats or small animals required separation. Yet traditional fences felt less like safe spaces and more like tools of restriction. For sensitive pets, losing sight of their humans heightened their anxiety; cold, enclosed barriers only triggered more escape attempts.
We gradually realized that what we labeled as "disobedience," "pickiness," or "difficulty" was actually a lack of understanding—of their physical and psychological needs. They weren't trying to cause problems; they were communicating their discomfort in the only way they knew how.

To care for these cats and dogs, we tried everything.
We set alarms to feed them on schedule, portioning wet food into small servings stored in the fridge. But when we were out, we worried: Would the food sit out too long? Would they refuse it because it was too cold?
Standard automatic feeders are designed for kibble. They dispense pellets, but fail at preserving wet food, managing temperature, or staying clean. We tried ice packs and makeshift cooling, but they melted, needed constant refreezing, and lost effectiveness fast. Even if the machine rotated on time, we were left wondering: Was the food actually fit to eat? Did they ever come to the bowl?
What owners worry about isn't just whether the machine worked. We worry about whether the food is still safe, whether they refused it due to temperature, whether they showed up on time today, whether their appetite has changed, and in a multi-pet home, who actually ate this meal.
Fences brought similar frustrations. Traditional metal pens mark boundaries, but the gaps risk heads, paws, or toys getting stuck. Small dogs try to climb them. Fixed sizes don't adapt to rooms or pet counts, nor do they blend into a home. More importantly, we didn't want pets feeling isolated inside a pen. They need boundaries, yes—but they also need to see us, see the room, and know they are still part of the family.
Our home filled up with stopgap measures: alarms, bowls, ice packs, cameras, dividers, pens, and ever-shifting furniture layouts. These band-aids solved the immediate problems, but forced us to ask a crucial question: Why must pets always adapt to existing products, instead of products adapting to the lives of pets?
That question became the turning point. That is why we decided to build.

At EVOTAILS, product development didn’t start with a question of market gaps. It started with the real, everyday problems we faced.
Instead of asking how many specs we could add, we asked fundamentally different questions:
Does this design respect a pet’s natural eating pace?
Does it minimize unnecessary anxiety and waiting?
Does it help owners easily notice changes in their pet’s behavior?
Does it integrate seamlessly into daily life, rather than adding another burden?
This shaped the three pillars of our product philosophy.
First, pets need stability over standardization. For animals who have known hunger or upheaval, routine is everything. Fixed mealtimes, familiar rituals, and environmental consistency build the foundation of true security.
Second, safety should never mean segregation. A good pet space provides boundaries while preserving visual connection. Pets deserve their own sanctuary without being exiled from family life.
Third, effective products consider both ends of the leash. If a product is hard to clean, complex to operate, or requires tedious prep, it fails—no matter how good the intention. Real benefit comes only from routines that can be sustained long-term.
That’s why EVOTAILS doesn’t chase technology for technology’s sake. Every feature must answer a specific life problem:
Cooling, to safely manage pre-portioned wet food.
Pre-meal warming, to serve food at a more palatable temperature.
Scheduled feeding, to establish a stable, reassuring rhythm.
Camera and logs, to confirm they actually ate.
Transparent barriers, to define boundaries while maintaining visual companionship.
Modular structure, to evolve with the changing needs of pets and families.
Features should never be decoration. They should be answers to real-life needs.

Our first products directly address the two most recurring challenges we faced in daily care: how to make feeding more consistent and appropriate, and how to provide boundaries without sacrificing peace of mind.
We developed the Smart Wet Food Feeder because standard automatic feeders failed to solve the real problems of wet food households. Many cats prefer wet food; others require small, frequent meals. But owners cannot guarantee they will be home for every mealtime, and leaving wet food out risks spoilage and temperature fluctuations. So, we re-engineered the product around the actual workflow of wet food care. The EVOTAILS Feeder stores multiple pre-portioned meals, serving them according to your schedule. Semiconductor cooling keeps food fresh until serving time, while gentle pre-meal warming enhances aroma and palatability. Through the app, owners manage feeding plans and monitor consumption via camera and logs.
This does not replace the owner, nor is it a substitute for professional health management. What it does is help establish a stable, transparent, and observable daily routine. Cats eat on their familiar schedule, even when you're not home. And if they don't show up, you'll notice sooner. To us, "smart" does not mean handing care over to a machine. True intelligence means you never lose touch with your pet's life, even when you're apart.
We designed the Transparent Modular Pen because we refused to let a pet enclosure become a wall that cuts them off from the family. New rescues, puppies in training, and small pets like cats or rabbits do need a defined, safe area. But they also need to observe the household, see their people, and build trust through daily interaction. That’s why we chose transparent panels. Pets remain visually connected to family life, and owners can easily check on them. Dual locks, rounded corners, and narrow gaps address safety concerns, while the modular design allows the pen to adapt to any room, pet count, or life stage.
We didn't want a tool for punishment or isolation. We wanted a sanctuary that belongs to them. A place to rest, eat, and play—a place they can retreat to when overwhelmed, yet still know their humans are nearby. Though different in function—one centered on diet, the other on space—both products spring from the exact same origin: to understand the reasons behind pet behavior, and to use design to reduce unnecessary stress in their lives.

EVOTAILS wasn’t imagined in a boardroom.
It was born from tipped-over food bowls, a cat’s hesitation toward cold meals, the blare of late-night feeding alarms, and the eyes of a pet searching for its person from behind a fence.
We’ve seen the physical wounds, but also the fear and anxiety no photograph could capture.
That taught us: pet wellness isn’t defined by a single check-up, a bag of food, or one product. It lives in the details of every day:
Whether they’re fed on time, with food that suits them.
Whether they have a space that’s safe, yet not isolating.
Whether they can build a steady rhythm of life.
Whether their person can notice shifts in appetite, behavior, and mood.
A product can’t replace medicine, nor erase what a pet has endured. But the right product can make daily care more reliable, easier to sustain, and less stressful for a pet.
That is what EVOTAILS exists to do.
We’ll keep starting with real homes and real animals, noticing the needs often overlooked: wet food management, multi-pet feeding, puppy training, senior pet care, spatial adaptation, and the emotional shifts across life stages.
We won’t demand every pet fit one lifestyle, nor believe one product solves everything.
We only hope each design moves things forward:
Meals better aligned with their needs.
Spaces that feel safer.
Understanding between pets and their people, clearer.
And for those who’ve been hurt, frightened, or abandoned—a life that’s steady, and lived with dignity.
